About the Artists

The National Tour & Community Readings of "O! Maha Dangrek: Poetry of Cambodian Refugee Experiences" launches April 1, 2010, and continues throughout the month.  Two young artists from Cambodia will be part of the tour, performing live readings of the poetry in smot.  Smot is defined by the nonprofit Cambodian Living Arts as "an integral and complicated form of singing unique to Khmer mourning," can also be used to symbolize "healing, acceptance, and letting go."   The tour is coordinated and led by the Editor/Publisher, Samkhann Khoeun.
